Giving Back Is Vital – Philanthropy At KPJ Group

Do things right & Do the right thing

KPJ Group consider charitable donations and conduct as part of our corporate responsibility to give back to society.

Globally, we’ve been working to make the world a better place for over half a century and doing good for others is a key part of our philosophy.

“We have been fortunate enough to give back to our communities and will continue doing so for many years”

Supporting Pancare Foundation

Our main philanthropic focus at the present point in time is supporting Pancare Foundation.

Pancare is a wonderful organisation that strives to improve outcomes for those who suffer from Upper GI cancers, while also providing support services for those who have been diagnosed and their families.

In 2021 we took our partnership with Pancare Foundation to the next level, with KPJ Group Australia providing funding to assist Pancare in bringing on an extra counsellor. This helps the foundation expand their efforts and enhance the impact that they have on those who are dealing with an Upper GI Cancer diagnosis.

This commitment does not detract from our other initiatives with Pancare, and we still proudly participate in the Par 5 collective, as well as fundraising efforts during Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month each November. We are also pleased to have attended the foundation’s 10th Anniversary Gala, which is where the above photo (picturing members of our staff alongside key members of the Pancare team) was taken.

At KPJ Group Australia we are firm believers that businesses should help support the health of their communities, and our partnership with Pancare is one way that we practice what we preach.

KPJ Group Australia focuses on supporting charities that align with the four pillars of our philanthropic strategy:

One of our main goals is to make a positive contribution to the communities that our facilities are located within.

We feel that it is our duty to ensure local communities are enhanced through our presence, and always strive to build relationships and provide support to those around us.

For example, the Take A Swing For Charity Golf Day in Dandenong, Victoria, would not have been born if not for the contributions of the Shah Family and KPJ Group. We remain proud supporters of this event each year and love seeing the difference that funds raised make for local organisations and initiatives.

We believe that our sustainable operations are our legacy – and we want to leave a good one for many generations to come. That’s why we put a strong focus on operating in the most eco-friendly manner possible.

For example, Airstep Underlay recycles all foam offcuts that are created during the manufacturing process of Foamco products. Airstep underlays are then made available for use with Imagine Floors by Airstep flooring – and a decent section of our flooring selection is 100% recyclable – this includes all Luxury Vinyl Plank products.

Another fantastic example of this is Airstep’s partnership with Rip Curl which sees our underlay business recycle approximately half of the neoprene offcuts generated when Rip Curl create their wetsuits.

You may have also noticed that thanks to our partnership with Tree Nation – the website you’re currently on is 100% carbon neutral. While these are not all of our sustainable initiatives, they are some of the highlights.

Another strong belief held within our organisation is that supporting vulnerable people – both physically & mentally – is an incredibly important and worthwhile cause.

Because of this, when selecting charity partners, we do tend to lean towards investing and participating in initiatives that strive to improve outcomes for people affected by difficult to manage diseases and health issues.

Our main focus at the present point in time is supporting Pancare Foundation. You can learn more about our partnership with this wonderful organisation on the left-hand side of this page.

The final core pillar of our philanthropic strategy is centred around education and lifting every individual.

The goal here is to enable access to quality education and vocational opportunities through supporting initiatives that are focused on identifying and assisting vulnerable people to gain a start.

Through this mission, we support causes that provide opportunities both locally and abroad, including School for Life – an organisation which runs a school in rural Uganda giving educational opportunities to poor communities, iimpact Australia – who support providing educational opportunities for young girls in India,
and the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation, who have a more local focus.
