KPJ Group Australia Sustainability

At KPJ Group Australia, we believe that our sustainable operations are our legacy. We place emphasis on operating in the most eco-friendly manner possible, and are constantly striving to increase the sustainability of all businesses within our group.

We are proud of the work that we do on this front, and are pleased that this desire has presented itself as a full cycle ecosystem within our three main companies.

For example, any foam offcuts that are generated while Foamco is creating fillings for Australian made furniture, are sent to the closest Airstep manufacturing facility to be used within their underlay products. This forms part of the 90% recycled materials that Airstep are proud to craft their underlayment from.

Once the underlay is created, it is then commonly paired with Imagine Floors by Airstep flooring to create an eco-friendly foundation for people’s designs. It’s also a wonderfully sustainable base for carpet, so consumers can enjoy Airstep’s eco-friendly products no matter what type of floor they decide to install.

The best part is, all foam and underlay products from Airstep and Foamco can be returned to Airstep at the end of their lifespan for recycling. This means that we have created a self-sustaining loop on this front. Airstep will also accept end-of-life products from other manufacturers providing that they are in recyclable condition.

Many options within the Imagine Floors by Airstep collection are also 100% recyclable.

Our sustainable commitment extends across to our office and administration based tasks, as well as our digital presence.

In addition to being paperless wherever possible, we recycle any paper that is used once it has served its purpose. We also participate in Planet Ark’s Cartridges 4 Planet Ark(C4PA) program and are always striving to minimise the amount of paper, cardboard and other hard-copy products that are used.

We also make use of green web hosting for our site, combined with carbon neutral operation thanks to our partnership with Tree Nation. Put simply, this means that our site is powered in an eco-friendly way on our end, and that we plant trees when you visit our site to offset the power used on your end – therefore making our website a friend of the planet. You can learn more about these intiatives by clicking on the footer notes – Net Zero Website will take you through to our Tree Nation forest, while the Eco-Friendly website seal will provide information on our hosting.

Airstep partners with Rip Curl to reduce pre-consumer waste

Although reducing waste at the end of a product’s lifespan is important, ensuring that manufacturing waste is minimised is also vital to creating a brighter future for the planet.

Both Airstep and Rip Curl believe strongly that anything that can be recycled, should be, so both companies are proud to be working together to greatly reduce pre-consumer waste generated by the creation of Rip Curl wetsuits.
